At TruGrocer Federal Credit Union we recognize that the privacy and security of personal financial information is a concern to our members. We are committed to protecting the privacy and security of our members’ personal financial information and to ensuring the accuracy of such information.
We collect and maintain information about our members to enable us to provide products and services to meet member needs and to satisfy legal requirements. We use member personal financial information for legitimate credit union business purposes only, and in a manner consistent with banking practices and in compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Personal financial information is only released in response to a lawful request issued by a court, government agency, or regulatory authority with jurisdiction to make the request.
We keep your personal financial information in the strictest confidence and we maintain systems, policies and procedures to protect your personal information from being accessed by unauthorized persons. Credit Unions have always had strict provisions in their bylaws, as dictated by the National Credit Union Administration, about member privacy and our philosophy has always been to collect personal financial information only to conduct credit union business. Employees are trained to adhere to strict policies and procedures regarding member confidentiality.
There have been many articles lately related to consumer privacy issues. These articles generally focus on the Internet, although privacy issues span a much larger area. Mobile App: TruGrocer FCU collects location data to enable ATM & Shared Branch Finder and Locations for geofencing and beacon scanning, even when the app is closed or not in use (depending on your location access setting on your device) and it is also used to support advertising. To help identify each user, a unique ID is created and utilized to send advertising campaigns, relevant to the app user. First names are collected for product personalization purposes.
In some cases, we do use third party vendors to help us offer related financial products and services to our members. Example would be the company that prints member statements or the company that prints your personal share drafts (checks). These companies have agreed to maintain the same strict confidentiality that we employ.
We understand that you may have concerns about the security of your personal financial information and we will continue to do our part to ensure your privacy. If you have any questions, please contact us via email.
We reserve the right to change this policy statement at any time by posting a new Privacy Policy Statement.
